I couldn't believe that I have been blogging for one year now. I came up with the idea of starting this blog in November 2011. Since then, I have been thinking of what to name this blog. It took me four months to create a full Blogger account (with the layout) as I can only spend a few hours blogging even now.
How did I start, and what made me create my blog?
One of the primary reasons I started this blog is the opportunity to share my experiences. This allowed me to express myself and voice my views and opinions. I felt hurt and depressed when I began searching for a new hobby that would help combat the negative thoughts and feelings I was experiencing. I was grateful to have discovered the blogging community, particularly the blogs from Christian Mommy Bloggers, which provided me with encouragement and inspiration to move forward. I have chosen today, June 16, to be my blog's anniversary, as my first post was published on this date last year.
This blog was named "Oh!Mommy" at first, but then I decided to buy my own domain name, www.mommyhanny.com, at Go Daddy. I have learned the advantages of using a personal domain for my blog, and I have a long-term plan to keep this blog as long as I live. =) That was the brief history of how this blog started. (I gave up my personal domain)
I wanted to improve my blog, so I kept searching and learning by reading other people's blog posts online. I know that having a Gmail account allows me to create a blog. One time, I saw it in the drop-down menu labeled "More," and I was curious to check my email. I didn't know about WordPress and other platforms at that time -I used to think that all blogs were hosted by Blogger. Currently, I do not have any plans to transfer this blog to WordPress, as I am content with the services provided by Blogger. BC Bloggers and Blogaholic Social Network helped me a lot with starting this blog. I met more bloggers through BC Bloggers, while the Blogaholic Social Network provided me with tips on how to improve my site.
Receiving the recognition of the "Leibster Blog Award" from fellow blogger Jovell has inspired me to continue. It was then that I realized people appreciate this blog. Knowing and meeting someone who tells me they follow and read my posts brings me a sense of fulfillment and happiness as well. You, my beloved readers, are one reason I keep updating and creating content for this blog. Thank you for your continued support.
What are my plans for this blog?
I want to establish my blog's content by creating more posts with quality material. I aim to reach a larger audience and inspire them; I need to share my thoughts. I will continue learning to make further improvements to my blog. While I hope this blog will generate income, it is not my primary motive for continuing to blog. I have many topics listed that I want to write about and share, so I will do my best to begin creating posts on them. In fact, one of my goals for this year is to double the number of posts I made last year.
