My Shopping Memories (My SM)

When I was a child, I remember how happy I was visiting SM, and whenever there are school field trips, there should and will always be a stop at SM.  This store grew and spread out in the whole country, and I think almost every Filipino was able to visit the nearest store in their area.  Personally, SM Malls witnessed and played a role in creating some of the memories I cherish and I know I will still become part of more memories worth remembering.

Here are some of the memories I would love to share.  Way back when SM Batangas City is not yet built,

Our family will have some time to visit the nearest SM branch, which is in Las Piñas.  It is where we buy our school supplies and shoes - black shoes for our uniform and rubber shoes for PE, as we find good quality shoes there. We also purchase personal items like gadgets and clothes, and it's a great opportunity for family bonding.

Pakner4lyf and I used to have our dates  at SM Malls as well.  I enjoy window shopping, and since he loves me so much, he patiently accompanies me in this hobby.  We would exchange gifts, and one that I won't forget is the first pair of Parisian shoes he gave me.  I remember their perfect fit and how comfortable my feet felt while wearing them. I wore that pair of shoes during my internship days when I spent almost my entire shift standing and walking.   Last April 28, he bought me a pair of running shoes as an anniversary gift.  

Now, as a mom of three children, I have many reasons why I prefer shopping at SM, especially when I'm with the kids. If I'm not mistaken, they were the first mall to set up a breastfeeding area. I appreciated that so much, especially when I was a newbie mom breastfeeding. Their stores are spacious, unlike those in other malls where I encounter pushcart "heavy traffic!" Hehe. I would say that SM staff are trained to deal with and relate well to their customers, thus providing greater satisfaction. Their malls feature large open parking spaces, which is commendable since they offer it for free. With these conveniences, shopping with children is less of a hassle. 

SM stores offer a wide variety of products, and I get to find the things we want. From  past experiences, we always found the exact and perfect fashion we wanted at SM whenever we needed to buy shoes and clothes.  During my pregnancy, I remember how hard it was to find clothes that would fit me.  I am glad to find good maternity clothes at the SM Department Store.  Pregnant women can still be in the latest fashion, and I got to choose clothes that I can still wear even when I am no longer pregnant.  I always have a hard time picking clothes for myself, so I will always want my husband to be with me whenever I have to buy clothes.  I remember the photo above that pakner4lyf insisted that he wanted to buy me a new set of clothes to attend a graduation ceremony.  Our outfits here were all bought from the Department Store (except for the bag).  

Last Wednesday,  pakner4lyf left for a mission trip in the US. We had some time to drop by SM before he left to buy more things he would need.  I remember his last trip in 2010; we chose to stay at SM Mall of Asia while waiting for the perfect time for his flight. We went window shopping, and pakner4lyf bought me another pair of flat shoes and other items for JC and Eu-La, paying for all of it using the points he had accumulated from his advantage card.  Afterwards, we let the children have some fun at the attractions behind MOA near Manila Bay.
