Peace in the Midst of Trouble Part 2

If you have read my previous  post, you know how our family is struggling for our newborn's health. I previously worked in a laboratory and had my internship at Philippine Children's Medical Center.  I have seen many sick patients and couldn't forget how much I pitied the sick children I encountered in that hospital.  I now better understand how parents feel when something is wrong with their child. I couldn't bear seeing EJ getting needle pricks that hurt him so badly, but we must do it for his diagnosis.

Peace In the Midst of Trouble

EJ, our newborn, just visited his cardiologist for a cardiac evaluation.  After a month from his birth, we found out that his weight gain is slow compared to other infants his age. The doctors call it "failure to thrive. " We are searching for the reason for his poor weight gain. Our pediatrician considered having him undergo the cardiac evaluation procedure because heart disease can cause a child to use more calories than a normal child does. While waiting in the hospital, I brought a book with me so I wouldn't be bored.  I found a verse in the book I was reading that continually reminded me to stay calm.

No Cook Clay (Hardens When Air Dried)

I never thought I could make a beautiful craft out of cornstarch and glue. One boring day, I decided to search for a new project that I and the kids could work on.  Pinterest is the perfect site for that. While searching, I found this idea: making clay using cornstarch and glue as the main ingredients.  After reading the instructions, I headed to our kitchen, grabbed the cornstarch, and of course we had glue at home, and started working.

Another Great Year to Come

Hello everyone.  I know I have been quiet here for some time.  After giving birth, I have been very busy with many things.  I couldn't count the number of attempts I made to write a blog post, but I didn't succeed in doing so. Later in December, I had to focus more on breastfeeding our newborn, so I had to give up the internet and blogging.  Instead, whenever time allows (when the baby is sleeping), I choose to work on making crafts for our Christmas gifts.  See  the photos of the crafts we made below. I'll try to post the tutorials for the crafts soon.  Please give me a bit more time for that.  The children were so excited about the season's celebration and being spoiled with gifts from friends and relatives.

My Greatest Miracle this 2014

At the start of this year I was challenge with a question,  "What kind miracle would you ask God to happen this year?"  This was the first challenge I've heard during our Sunday service and I did ponder what would it be.  I couldn't think of anything I can ask for but I did expected that God would do something spectacular not only for me but for my whole family.  We had a series of studies in the Bible about the miracle working God.  As we study the word of God, my search of discovering and asking the miracle I wanted to receive was changed.  God talked to me and showed me how blessed I am.  I started to carefully examine every little thing in me and the things happening around me.  From there I learned that I no longer needed to ask for a miracle.  It is because I am already having miracles everyday that I failed to see and thank Him for. My eyes were opened to see and realize how God is continuously doing miracles not just out of the blues but  He does miracles everyday of my life.
