Blessed Week as JC Turns 5 - Laiya Beach, Cake and a Bicycle

We've been busy last week but is surely blessed specially for JC who celebrated his 5th birthday last March 7. JC is now aware of the dates in the calendar. As soon as February has ended my son tells everyone that his birthday is so near! I attempted to ask him of what would he like to have on his birthday. He answered me straight saying "a cake car". I was stunned hearing him say that. I don't know how to design a cake car.  Then there's is one friend who makes carved cakes that came into my mind. I know ordering that cake would be so expensive. I started praying and hoping that in the coming days I would be blessed with enough money to afford it. But I still kept on thinking if I had that money should I still go and order it? Because for me it's not practical to pay a cake worth 3 thousand pesos. I asked my younger brother for an opinion. What he said was, "Ate, I am sure you can make one yourself."

Pakner4lyf informed me few days before JC's birthday that there is no extra budget.  I didn't want to break my son's heart who is expecting that cake on his birthday; and I didn't want to hurt our monthly budget too.

Dining out with our children

Dining out with toddlers would be so hard if you ended out in a restaurant that does not fit for them.  Well you moms know what I mean.  When we are with children, we rather chose dining in a child friendly restaurant where we will feel secured that our children won't break plates, glasses, or any valuables in there.  We had an experience dining at a restaurant not suited for them.  What happened?  All eyes are around us because of the noise they/we make.  I can see those looks from the staff and other people dining that simply says you shouldn't be here.

Let's play ball

One of the privileges a homeschooler can have is the opportunity of having a more flexible schedule compared to a child enrolled in regular school.  Children can learn more when they can actually experience the things taught in the classroom.

Love Life and Sex Education

Sorry for the late greeting, I could have posted this on time but because of internet connection problems, I failed to do so. I'd never thought it will be so hard when you're used with an internet access in the house then suddenly its out.  February is said to be the love month and we needed to prepare for a post heart's day celebration. I usually go online to research for party ideas. I am glad that God had guided me and given me knowledge on what to do with the task I was assigned with. Greeting cards are perfect gifts in special occasions because of its message that touches the recipient's heart.  The idea of being it handmade adds up to its value. Heart's month is just around and you might be thinking of something to give to those dear to your heart.

SJ First Birthday Celebration

I don't have any plans of throwing out a party for SJ's first birthday.  Originally, I planned to cook a simple dinner for the family and buy a cake at red ribbon and took a souvenir photo that I can share to my son when he grows up.  It is stressful to arrange a party - one major reason why I don't want to do it and second we don't have a house helper who can offer help mostly on taking care of the children.   If we are going to celebrate the party in a restaurant, it would be expensive and we had no budget to cover the expenses.

It so happen that our son's birthday falls on Sunday (February 10, 2012) so we are expecting lot of people will come having a husband who is a pastor and the fact that our house is one door away from the church.  Pakner4lyf decided to invite all the church members and friends for a simple celebration not only because it is our son's birthday nor it was the Chinese New Year but there are other church members who are also celebrating their birthdays this month - Kevin, Lizzele and Zymon.

Only moms can fully understand...

I believe that all people whether young or old, male or female, regardless of status in life at some point sacrifices for a better purpose.

I used to wonder if I would be a good mom to my children. From the time I conceived my first son, my fears started about whether I could nurture and provide for our coming child. Since then, I have started praying that I can raise godly children following biblical principles. This way, I know I can never get it wrong.

My sacrifices as a mother started when I conceived for our firstborn son.
